The Society was formed in 1910.  Its origins can be traced to a meeting held at the Osborne Park Hotel on 19 October 1910 to consider a project to build a hall and other matters.  The meeting resolved to form a local agricultural society and within a month dairy, pig and poultry farmers, and market gardeners crowded into John Tyler’s Main Street shop for the Society’s first meeting.

The Society set three main goals which were to seek expert advice and information on agricultural matters, to work for the erection of an agricultural hall and conduct an annual agricultural show.

At the annual Osborne Park Show enjoy all the activities and exhibitions that contribute to an event filled show which has been a part of the Osborne Park scene since 1914.

This year you can see log chopping, exhibitions of animals, produce and hobbies. Entries from local schools and young people. Side shows, rides, entertainers, displays, food and of course, showbags are all included. Along with other activities and events which you, your family and friends can all enjoy.

One of our main attractions is the fireworks display held on both evenings. This year the fireworks will be even more spectacular than ever.

The Show is organised and run by Osborne Park Agricultural Society members and volunteer helpers, with support and assistance from various sponsoring organisations, including the City of Stirling, community organisations and local businesses.

To contribute to, or, to participate in, the Osborne Park Show contact the Osborne Park Agricultural Society Secretary with your inquiry.

Fremantle Prison

Fremantle Prison is the largest and most intact convict built prison in Australia and is Western Australia’s only World Heritage Listed Building. It was continuously used as a place of incarceration for almost 140 years. The prison was decommissioned as a maximum-security gaol in 1991.

Trip Advisor has rated the Fremantle Prison as one of Australia’s top 10 attractions and in 2013 the prison welcomed its 3,000,000 visitor since opening to the public in 1992.

Entry to the gatehouse is free of charge and includes the Convict Café, gift shop, prison gallery and an interactive visitor centre.

Without doubt, the highlight of a visit to the prison is the entertaining tours conducted by experienced tour guides who bring the rich folklore and stories of the prison to life.

For a completely different perspective, experience the prison by night on an eerie tour by torchlight each Wednesday and Friday night. These popular tours offer a few surprises along the way to add to the atmosphere and are not for the faint-hearted!

For an extreme heritage adventure join a tour to explore the labyrinth of tunnels located 20 metres beneath Fremantle Prison!

For more information and to book tickets visit the tours and tickets page.

Fremantle Ghostly Tram Tour operates every Friday night and includes a tour of Fremantle’s oldest buildings including the prison, The Round House and Fremantle Arts Centre.
