City of Fremantle - Fremantle Arts Centre

The City of Fremantle operated Fremantle Arts Centre (FAC) is one of Western Australia’s major arts organisations and a much-loved local facility. It offers a rich cultural program of exhibitions, residencies, art courses, music and events. 

Housed in a neo-Gothic style building constructed by convicts in 1860 and set in beautiful gardens, FAC is also an important heritage site.

FAC has a cutting-edge exhibition program, showcasing a wide range of contemporary visual art by local, national and international artists. The Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award, Australia’s richest and most prestigious printmaking prize, is an annual highlight on the exhibition calendar. FAC also supports practitioners through an in-demand Artists in Residence program.

FAC offers an extensive range of fun and affordable arts courses for kids, teens and adults. Running on weekdays, weekends and evenings and catering to all abilities from absolute beginners to advanced artists, there’s something for everyone. The Arts Centre is also a premiere live music venue, with performances all year-round. Over summer, there are free concerts by leading local and touring acts as part of the Sunday Music series. FAC’s South Lawn is also the venue for big-name touring artists such as Nick Cave, Paul Kelly and Elvis Costello.

FOUND at Fremantle Arts Centre, the on-site shop, stocks WA's largest range of unique gifts and wares designed by local artists. FAC is also home to Canvas Café

Fremantle Arts Centre is open 10.00 am – 5.00 pm, 7 days a week. Entry is free and free Wi-Fi is available in the grounds.

Artrage - Fringe World Festival

FRINGE WORLD Festival is a summer celebration in Perth, Western Australia held annually over 31 days in January/February. It's the third largest Fringe in the world and the largest annual performance platform in Western Australia.

The program of events includes comedy, circus, free and family entertainment, theatre, visual arts, music and musicals, dance and cabaret presented by Western Australian artists along with performers from all over the world. Events are presented at venues all over the Perth metropolitan area and the major Fringe hubs are clustered at either end of James St in Northbridge including the Perth Cultural Centre and The Pleasure Garden at Russell Square.

The 2016 FRINGE WORLD Festival played host to 713 events at 159 venues and performance spaces spread across Perth and further afield in local communities and neighbourhoods. The Festival recorded ticketed attendance of 349,841 which delivered $8.3 million in gross box office returns to artists.

FRINGE WORLD Festival is produced by Artrage Inc, a Not-For-Profit cultural organisation and charity that has been at the forefront of enriching and evolving the creative arts and culture of Western Australia since 1983.

Centrally located in the Karratha City Centre on the corner of Hillview and Balmoral Road this innovative, family-friendly facility “has it all” for children and youth including a fully airconditioned indoor children’s playground, cafe, dedicated youth space, performing arts area, skate park, and ample car parking.

The Base, located on Tamarind Place in Wickham, is open Tuesday to Saturday afternoons throughout the school term and school holiday programs. It's a safe space for kids aged 11-18 years to hang out, relax and take part in some fun free activities.

Churchlands Concert Hall

The Churchlands Concert Hall is one of Perth’s newest live performance venues and is accessible for hire by professional, community and educational groups.
It’s a state-of-the art building acoustically designed to bring out the best in any musical or other live performance or event. With a capacity for seating 504 people it faces a large and flexible stage comparable in size to Perth Concert Hall. The Churchlands Concert Hall offers opportunities for a wide range of uses in musical and theatrical performance as well as for rehearsals, graduations, conferences, seminars and other presentations.

Situated on the perimeter of Churchlands Senior High School the Concert Hall is an integral arm to the state’s largest and most successful Specialist Music Program providing a top-class and contemporary creative facility to many groups. The convenient and central location, set between the city and coast, is easily accessible from the Mitchell freeway or by public transport. There is also ample, secure on-site parking.

The architecturally designed Concert Hall has individual under seat air-conditioning, a naturally lit glass-walled foyer and corridor, servery kiosk, numerous practice/holding rooms and a tree-lined courtyard entrance with surrounding promenades and lawns. There is also access to a large adjacent greenroom and smaller 265 seat auditorium with chorale and dance studios nearby.
