The WA Shipwrecks Museum is internationally recognised for its contributions to maritime archaeology and shipwreck conservation. Housed in a restored 1850s-era Commissariat building the galleries house hundreds of relics from ships wrecked along WA’s treacherous coastline. Including the original timbers from Batavia (wrecked in 1629) the de Vlamingh Dish and countless artefacts from the Dutch shipwrecks Zuytdorp Zeewijk and Vergulde Draeck.

Opening hours:
• Open daily 9.30am – 5pm.
• Anzac Day 1pm – 5pm.
• Closed Christmas Day Boxing Day New Year’s Day and Good Friday.

General Admission entry is free. For special exhibitions and events a free companion card ticket can be booked online or purchased in-person at entry. A valid companion card must be shown with ticket.

The WA Shipwrecks Museum is fully accessible. There is both a ramp and lift available and automatic doors to galleries. Unisex accessible toilets are available on the ground floor. There are two ACROD bays available in front of the Museum and one additional ACROD bay on Slip Street in a paid Wilson’s car park.
